Vacancy: Full-time Keeper (Maternity Cover)

Fixed Term Contract ending 31 December 2022, with a possibility that this could be extended to a permanent role.

We currently have a vacancy for a full-time keeper to cover maternity leave. The post is for a highly motivated person who is practical, hard-working and is able to work outdoors, performing a physically demanding job. Specifically:

  • Care for our collection of British wildlife
  • Helping to educate the public and school groups through talks and demonstrations
  • Maintenance of animal enclosures

Essential requirements

Work Experience Placements

We regret that in this academic year the British Wildlife Centre is not offering work experience placements.

In the new academic year, from September 2022, we will be offering a limited number of one-week long work experience placements for students aged 18+ and who are studying for a recognised animal management qualification. If you fit this criteria and would like to apply please contact the Centre by email providing relevant details.
Places are not guaranteed and are subject to availability.
